Board of Trustee Elections

The next Municipal and School Board Election Day will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025.

Many of the forms and information for the upcoming election have yet to be made available by Alberta Municipal Affairs


School board trustees are locally-elected representatives who play a critical role in shaping the future of public education.

Running for Office

69堂精品app promotes and encourages its interested citizens to run for the office of elected school board trustee.  The Division is committed to providing an environment that will give all candidates fair access to the electorate.

A list of all candidates is available on this webpage.


Notice of Intent

A person can share their intent to run for office after January 1, 2025 if they:

  • Submit the notice of intent to the school board by using documentation provided by the Government of Alberta:

Nomination Process

The , states that a person is eligible to be nominated as a candidate in any election under this Act if on nomination day the person

  1. is eligible to vote
  2. has been a resident of the local jurisdiction for 6 consecutive months immediately preceding nomination day, and
  3. is not otherwise ineligible or disqualified

Filing a Nomination Form (coming soon)

Candidates are required to submit a completed Nomination Form prior to 12:00 noon on September 20, 2025 (nomination day).

Nominations must be signed by at least five electors. These electors must be residents of the school board on the date they signed the form, and they must be eligible to vote in the election.  As 69堂精品app has a ward system, the electors signing the nomination form must also be residents of the ward for which the candidate is being nominated.

Candidates can file their nomination papers with the returning officer by visiting 69堂精品app office at 129 4 Avenue, Suite 300, High River, Alberta T1V 1R3 during regular business hours.  Although an appointment is not required, we encourage candidates to call 403-652-3001 and schedule an appointment time.  We are pleased to coordinate for candidates who schedule in advance:

  • Complimentary Commissioner of Oaths for Form 4 - Nomination Paper and Candidate's Acceptance.
  • Complimentary headshot photo for use in campaign and election materials.
